People come in hoards,
looking for laughter and fun.
They catch on quickly,
to just how it is done.
Hold your arms up high.
On your face put a smile.
Dance a little jig.
Holler out New Orleans style.
“Throw me something mister!”’
Repeat this over and again.
Don’t forget to jump up,
every now and then.
Soon there will be someone
who gives you the eye.
He’ll hum a pair of beads.
Don’t let them pass you by!
Don’t take your eyes off the beads
sailing through the air.
Mardi Gras beads can hurt
when they catch you unaware.
