This is a poem that I wrote in June, 1996. I have entered it here, hoping that it will motivate me to write another poem.
I can remember the smell
Entering my Daddy's house
Pot roast
The delicious smell of pot roast
Simmering in the crock pot.
I see him
Lifting the cover
Taking in the aroma
Testing the carrots and onions
Cut with tired, arthritic hands.
Now he is gone
I wish for the smell of his pot roast
It's savoring taste
So tender it falls apart in your mouth
Once again to eat his pot roast...

Wow, mom. It's very good. Where did you write this down?
