We wonder and ask ourselves, “Why?”

Missing socks in the dryer.
Just where do they go?
Is there some kind of sock monster
in the dryer lying low?

A bill that vanished in the air
The keys that can't be found
The pens that keep disappearing
A door that opened without a sound.

An open cabinet drawer
The window shades askew
Is there a spook in the house
or is it simply you?
